Invite your family and friends to support their local fire station. Votes will be taken at the women’s expo and will help raise money for each firefighter’s respective station in conjunction with the America Red Cross. ($1 donation for each vote.) The Firefighter Strut and announcement of the winner will be held on center stage at 1:15 p.m.
Pat Stefan from Stauffers of Kissel Hill in Hummelstown will be doing a presentation on vegetable gardening. Pat is an avid gardener and believes that gardening should be fun, not work. She will discuss preparing the soil, how to grow vegetables in containers, planting, plant care and nutrition, problem solving, and harvest. Throughout the presentation, audience questions are welcome.

With 10 years’ experience, Candice Luciani, B.S., Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, master-level personal trainer, and nutritional consultant, is going to go over the essentials to being strong and fit and what women can do to battle common misconceptions in the realm of diet and exercise. Topics include: resistance training, conditioning, weight loss, how to train anywhere, exercise prescription for healthy adults and those with arthritis and osteoporosis, fitness nutrition, and smoothie basics. Candice will also demonstrate the fundamentals of making an effective resistance training workout!
The Creative Elegance Boutique fashion show, which will be narrated by owner Kathy Cadieux, will feature at least 20 outfits ranging from casual wear to special occasion. You’ll see the latest in jewelry from Sorrelli and Brighton. Fashions will include designer Joseph Ribkoff, Karen Kane, Tribal, and introducing the new “Creative Elegance Collection.”
Darmayne Robertson, Food Network competitor, owner, and head cake artist at Sweet Confections Cakes (Colonial Park), will create an edible designer purse and shoes out of cake with butter cream and rolled fondant icing, showcasing various techniques. Darmayne is a self-taught cake artist and has been creating edible art for more than 20 years.
